WebI was told my barrel from Anderson Manufacturing (a pretty low end one) that it, and most .223 barrels nowadays, are tested for higher pressure .223 which is supposed to let them be able to have them shoot 5.56. But saying it in person is a lot different from putting it on the barrel where theu can legally say it won't be a problem. WebYou can shoot .223 in a rifle chambered for 5.56 but you should not shoot 5.56 in a rifle chambered for .223. The barrel should be stamped with what it’s chambered for.
